About The Track

• Located in Henderson, Kentucky by the Twin Bridges, however, Ellis Park is located on the Indiana side of the Ohio River
• Mile and one eighth dirt track
• One mile inner turf course
• The main track includes seven furlong and one mile chutes
• The stretch is 1175 feet long
• The main track includes river bottom sand from the Ohio River
• The backside accommodates 984 horses
• Our live Thoroughbred horse racing meet begins in July 4 and runs through Labor Day.  
• Simulcast racing year round, Wed-Sun
• The live race meet highlight is the Gardenia Stakes (GIII)
