Hunter John fits the first allowance condition to a “T” following a maiden breaking win three weeks ago at the
same five and one-half furlong turf trip. Gutierrez was up then as today and the win came after the colt moved
to the red hot barn of John Ortiz, now with eight wins (and seven other in-the-money) finishes from 28 starters
at the meeting. The 97 Equibase figure is already tops in the field and likely to be improved upon as the colt
makes his second start following two and one-half months off as well.
