#5 Ununderstandable – minimum win betting odds 2/1
#4 Ria Munk – minimum win betting odds 3/1
#1 Get Rewarded – minimum win betting odds 3/1
Exacta:
Box 1, 4, 5
Ununderstandable tried turf AND two-turns for the first time in her most recent start under identical conditions on 7/19. In her second start in blinkers she set a pretty fast pace while leading for the first seven furlongs and entered the stretch just a head from the lead before tiring to fifth. Although fifth, Ununderstandable was only beaten two necks and a half-length for the win. Likely to be even stronger second off the layoff, the filly could easily play “Come Catch Me” with the field more successfully today.
Ria Munk could be in a good stalking trip as she stretches out from a sprint, or she could get the lead and put Ununderstandable in the second position early by default. There’s one other scenario where Ria Munk and Ununderstandable battle for the lead and both tire, in which case Get Rewarded wins. However, I don’t think Ria Munk and Ununderstandable are tied to having the lead early, particularly Ria Munk as in her first start after adding blinkers last summer she stalked in third for the first four furlongs then won. The last time (of just two tries) she ran on turf, Ria Munk set a slow pace from the start and held third so even if up close or on the lead early she could be in the thick of action at the end as well.
Get Rewarded rallied from last of 12 to make the lead at the top of the stretch in her last start 19 days ago and perhaps that was a bit too soon as she was passed late and ended up second. Two before that she rallied from ninth to second so she definitely is in good form and has the late kick to win.
