A Stewards Inquiry was posted regarding an incident in the stretch that involved second place #11 “Saturday Night” (Shaun Bridgmohan) and third place #7 Aunt Joie (James Graham). After reviewing the race replay and interviewing the riders, the stewards determined that #11 ducked in sharply, making contact with #7, knocking her off stride and causing her to lose momentum. #11 was disqualified from second and placed third behind #7.
