Weiner Dog Races Return to Ellis Park

One of the most anticipated fan events of the season, the qualifying Weiner Dog Races, sponsored by Reditus Property Holdings & Miss Mosby, returns to Ellis Park on Saturday, July 16.

The speedy Weiner dogs will dash across the dirt track from 11 AM to 12 PM CT. The top two finishers from five separate heats will qualify for the Finals on August 27, where the winningest weiners race for fire hydrant gold.

In addition to the Weiner Dog Finals on August 27, there will be an adoption event from 11 AM – 5 PM CT outside of the Main Entrance to help rescue pets find their forever homes. The organizations participating in the adoption event include New Life, New Hope, PAAWS, Feline Fix and Vanderburgh Humane. Commemorative “2022 Weiner Dog Races” t-shirts will be sold, with all proceeds benefitting all five of the participating charities.
